Annual Day – “Celebrace 25”

Grace Institutions celebrated its Annual Day – Celebrace 25 with great enthusiasm and joy on October 29, 2025. The event brought together students, faculty, staff, and distinguished guests to commemorate of academic excellence, service, and growth.

The celebration began with a Prayer Song by the College Choir followed by the Bible Reading and Prayer led by Rev. Dr. Sutheeban, Ph.D., Pastor of the CSI Pastorate Church, Viralikadu.

The auspicious Lighting of the Kuthuvilakku was performed by Mrs. Geetha Barns, M.A. (Psychology), M.A. (Population Studies), M.Phil., Correspondent of Grace Institutions and Chief Governance Officer of Grace Hospital.

Following the lighting ceremony, Dr. John Samuel B., M.S. (Ophthalmology), FVR, MBA (Hospital Management), Director Dr. John Eye Hospital, CEO Grace Hospital, and Treasurer the Grace Educational and Charitable Trust, delivered the Welcome Address, extending heartfelt greetings to the dignitaries and audience.

The Presidential Address was given by Dr. Barns Joy, MBBS, DFM, FCGP, Chairman and Master Integrator of Grace Institutions and Grace Hospital, who emphasized the institution’s vision of academic excellence combined with compassionate service.

Mr. S. Thaya Singh, M.A., M.Sc. (Radiology), DTT., DPHM., Academic Administrator of Grace Institutions, introduced the Chief Guest, Mr. Nanjil Sampath, M.A., M.Phil., a renowned public speaker and regional leader of the DMK Party, who delivered an inspiring College Day Address encouraging students to pursue excellence and integrity in all their endeavors.

The Guest of Honor, Dr. Krishna Kumar, MBBS, MS (Ortho), Managing Director of K.K. Ortho Hospital, Nagercoil, shared words of wisdom and congratulated the institution on its remarkable journey.

This was followed by a Felicitation Address by Mrs. Geetha Barns, highlighting the dedication and collective efforts behind Grace Institutions’ continued success.

The event also featured a Prize Distribution Ceremony, recognizing outstanding academic achievers and talented students across various departments.

In his Vote of Thanks, Dr. Mathias R., MBA, B.Ed., PGDHA, DMM, Ph.D., General Manager of Grace Institutions, expressed gratitude to all guests, faculty members, and students for making the event a grand success.

The celebration concluded with a vibrant lineup of Cultural Events performed by the talented students from various departments of Grace Institutions.

World Physiotherapy Day 2025 – CME Program & Cultural Events

World Physiotherapy Day 2025 – CME Program & Cultural Events Grace Physiotherapy College, under Grace Institutions, celebrated World Physiotherapy Day with a vibrant blend of academic and cultural activities. The event began with a soulful Prayer Song by the BPT Choir team, followed by Bible Reading by Fredly Joniyal Lal (BPT IV Year) and the rendition of Tamil Thai Valthu. Rev. Angel Palayyan led the prayer, and the Lamp Lighting Ceremony was performed by the Correspondent and dignitaries. The inaugural session featured thought-provoking addresses by Dr. R.R Rejin Sam Raj (Vice Principal), Dr. J.S John Jeba Singh (Principal), Dr. Barns Joy (Chairman, Grace Institutions), and Dr. John Samuel (Treasurer, Grace Institutions). The Chief Guest, Dr. Vasanth Kumar (Sports and Rehab Scientist, Founder – Quafit Fitness INC, Chennai), delivered an inspiring keynote address. Felicitations were extended by Mrs. Geetha Barns (Correspondent), Dr. R. Mathias (General Manager), and Mr. S. Thaya Singh (Academic administrator). The session concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Dr. Albin Prabhu C (Assistant Professor). The morning session ended with the National Anthem and a Tea Break. Students later presented innovative ideas in the Poster Presentation session, followed by the CME Program. After lunch, the campus came alive with colorful Cultural Performances, showcasing the creativity and talents of the students. The celebration was a true reflection of academic excellence, professional growth, and cultural vibrancy, making it a remarkable and memorable day for the entire Grace family.

Freshers’ Day Celebration – 18th Batch (2025–2027)

Grace College of Education, Padanthalumoodu, joyfully welcomed new batch students by arranging Freshers’ Day function for the 18th Batch (2025–2027) on 10th September 2025 (Wednesday) at 10.30 a.m. in the J.G. Johnson Hall. The programme began with a Prayer Song by the College Choir, followed by Bible Reading and Prayer led by Rev. Dr. Sudheepan, Pastor, C.S.I. Church Veralikkatuvilai. The Welcome Address was delivered by Mr. R. Mahesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of English. The ceremonial Lighting of the Mangaladeepam was performed by Mrs. Geetha Barns, Correspondent, Grace Institutions & CGO, Grace Hospital. The Presidential Address was given by Dr. Barns Joy, Chairman, Grace Institutions, and the Inaugural Address by Dr. John Samuel B, Director of Dr. John Eye Hospital, CEO of Grace Hospital, and Treasurer of Grace Educational and Charitable Trust. The Chief Guest, Dr. G.D. Biji, Principal in-charge & Associate Professor, HOD and Research Centre, Nesamony Memorial Christian College, Marthandam, was introduced by Dr. P.S. Helen Prema Latha, Principal of Grace College of Education. Dr. Biji delivered an inspiring Chief Guest Address to motivate the future teachers. Felicitation speeches were given by Mrs. Geetha Barns, Mr. S. Thaya Singh (Academic Administrator, Grace Institutions), and Dr. A. Rajeswari (Professor & Head, Department of English). The celebrations were enriched by a Group Song presented by the Pre-Service Teachers. The Staff Introduction was made by Dr. P.S. Helen Prema Latha, Principal. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. C. Kalai Suseela, Vice Principal & Assistant Professor of Commerce, followed by the National Anthem. The programme was elegantly anchored by Pre-Service Teachers – Jessina Beevi I & Priya Uthaman, making the day a memorable and meaningful beginning for the new batch of future educators.

Grace Institution Celebrates Onam with Kerala Tradition

Grace Institution celebrated the festival of Onam with grandeur, by embracing the rich traditions of Kerala. The event began with a beautiful pookalam (floral carpet) competition for students, symbolizing prosperity and harmony. Cultural programs, including traditional dance, music, and games, added colour and joy to the occasion. Staff and students participated wholeheartedly, creating an atmosphere of unity and festivity. The celebration highlighted Kerala’s cultural heritage and offered everyone a chance to experience its values of togetherness and joy. The Onam function at Grace Institution truly reflected the spirit of the festival and brought the community closer.

79th Independence Day Celebration

Grace Institutions proudly celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great patriotism and enthusiasm. The event began with a Prayer Song by the College Choir, followed by Bible Reading by Ms. Evangilin (B.Sc Nursing student) and a heartfelt Prayer led by Mrs. Angel Paulin.

The College Choir rendered the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, after which the Welcome Address was delivered by Ms. Ashika (GNM student).

The highlight of the event was the Flag Hoisting Ceremony, conducted by Dr. Brans Joy (Chairman, Grace Institutions). This was followed by the Flag Song by the College Choir and the Pledge, led by Mr. Nickson Raj (Physical Director, Grace Institutions).

The Chief Guest Address was delivered by Dr. Thambi Vijaya Kumar (Director Dennis Hospital , Decipline Committee president ,Tamilnadu Congress, inspiring students and staff with his motivating words. This was followed by a Felicitation speech by Mr. Udaya Kumar (Melpuram Block congress treaasurer), in the esteemed presence of Mrs. Geetha Barns (Correspondent, Grace Institutions).

The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Ms. Ashwini Mohan (BPT student) and the National Anthem sung by the College Choir.The event was organized by Mr. Thaya Singh ( Academic Administrator ) and Dr. Mathias (General Manager ) with the support of Principals of all colleges of Grace Institutions. The celebration was a memorable occasion, reflecting the spirit of unity, patriotism, and dedication at Grace Institutions.

Graduation Day 2025

The 8th Graduation Day of Grace College of Nursing, the 14th Graduation Day of Grace School of Nursing, and the Graduation Day ceremonies of Grace College of Allied Health Sciences, Grace College of Physiotherapy, and Grace Institute of Health and Management, Padanthalumoodu, were held on 10/05/2025. The Graduation Day marked the culmination of the academic journey and success of the students who graduated this year. The traditional Kuthuvilakku (lamp lighting) ceremony was performed by Mrs. Geetha Barns, Correspondent; Mr. David Stevenson, Executive Board Member; Dr. Sheena Cherry, Trustee; and Dr. John Samuel, Treasurer, Grace Institutions. Dr. John Samuel, Treasurer of Grace Institutions, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Barns Joy, Chairman of Grace Institutions, formally declared the ceremony open. The Convocation Address was delivered by the Chief Guest, Mr. David Stevenson, CA (UAE). The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Amutha A., Principal, Grace College of Nursing. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.

Cultural Fest 2024

Intercollegiate Cultural Fest and Food Fest “Uniting Communities” were held on 15.10.2024. The Students exhibited their different talents, Dr.Sworna Meena, Gynecologist, Grace Multispeciality Hospital, Kaliyakkavilai was the Chief Guest spoke on Art for happy life. Mrs.Beaula, President, YWCA Marthandam was the Guest of Honour. Dr.John Samuel, Director, Dr.John Eye Hospital, Kaliyakkavilai Presided over the function and the food fest was inaugurated by Dr.Barns Joy, Chairman, Grace Institutions. At the Valedictory function held at 3pm prizes were distributed by Mrs. Geetha Barns, Correspondent, Grace Institutions. Overall, the event served as a platform for showcasing and celebrating the diverse talents and achievements.

Sports Meet 2024

Sports meet’24- “Promote peace” was held on 14.10.2024.The meet was presided by Dr.Barns Joy, Chairman, Grace Institutions, Mr. P.Shaju, Deputy General Manager (Rtd),Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu, Chennai, was the Chief Guest and Advocate Mr.Arun was the Guest of Honour. National Flag, Olympic Flag, College Flag were hoisted and Olympic torch was lighted. Mr.P.Shaju gave the sports meet address and declared the opening of sports meet. At 3pm during the valedictory function Trophies and medals were distributed to the winners by Mr. Johnson, Physical Education Trainer (Rtd) who was the guest for the valedictory function.

Independence Day Celebrations 2024

Independence Day Celebrations at the college was held on August 15, 2024, with great Enthusiasm and Patriotic fervor. The Management, Faculty and Students attended the event. The celebrations began with a prayer song, prayer followed by welcome address and flag hoisting by the Chairman,Dr.Barns Joy. Mr.Bendarvin, President, Block Panchayat, Parassala and Mr.Ravishankar, Vilavancode Block member, paid tribute to the freedom fighters and delivered patriotic speech. Mr.David john Stevenson, Scotland extended his wishes and greetings to the staff and the students on this special occasion. Tamil Thai Vazhthu, flag song and National Anthem were sung by the students with great pride. It was a remarkable day that we honour and respect all our freedom fighters. The program concluded with a vote of thanks.

Freshers’ Day 2024 - Grace Institutions

Freshers’ day was celebrated on 24-07-2024 at the college Auditorium, for the 2024-25 first year students. The Programme started with a prayer song, followed by the Bible reading and prayer. Dr. Barns Joy, Chairman addressed the freshers, wished them a happy stay and success. Dr.John Samuel gave an enlightening speech and boosted their self confidence, Madam Geetha Barns expressed her happiness, appreciation and wished the students to reach the heights in their life. Mr.Hareendran and Rtn.Meeran Khan, the guests of honour advised the students to utilize the resources available in the college and to make use of them in the right way.

The 2nd Graduation Day of Grace Institute of Health and Management, was held on 29th June,2024 at 10am.

The Graduation day was a culmination of academic success of the students, who passed out in the year 2020-2023.The Convocation address was delivered by Dr.Veera Ravi, Director, Directorate of Collaborative Programme, Alagappa University, Karaikudi. Dr.Veera Ravi Congratulated the students and their parents. He advised the graduates to update themselves in the competitive world of Technology. The Chairman congratulated the graduates on their hardwork and success and wished the students to reach higher goals. Mrs. Geetha Barns Presented the Annual Report of the Institutions. The chief guest addressed the gathering and commended the students and staff for the admirable activities conducted during the past academic year. Felicitations were offered by the guest of honour Mr.Vijay Vasanth (M.P. Kanyakumari Loksabha). This was followed by a prize distribution ceremony honouring the meritorious students. A new batch of students had a Fresher's Day on 20.09.2023. The meeting was prescribed by Dr.Barns Joy, Chairman, Grace Institutions. Mrs.Geetha Barns, Correspondent inaugurated with Lighting the Lamp. Dr.John Samuel, Treasurer, Grace Institutions gave the Inaugural Address and Dr.Aby R.L., Principal, Christian College, Kattakada was the Chief Guest and motivated the fresher's to be good future teachers in moulding the citizens of India. Dr.Kamala Selvaraj, Former Principal, Grace College of Education was the Guest of Honour. Mr.Thayasingh, Registrar and Dr.R.Mathias, Administrator felicitated the occasion.

Fresher's Day 2023

The inaugural ceremony of the Freshers was a remarkable event in the college on 2 nd of August 2023, in the Sarojini Auditorium. The College choir chanted the prayer song followed by the Bible Reading and Prayer by Rev.Sudeeban. Mrs.Geetha Barns, Correspondent Lighted the Kuthuvilakku and inaugurated the ceremony. Mr.Thaya Singh, Registrar welcomed the dignitaries , freshers and the Gathering. Dr.Barns Joy, Chairman presided over the function and delivered the presidential address. Pr.Peter attended the function and blessed the freshers. Dr.S. Karthiga Kannan, Principal, Adhiparasakthi Dental College, Melmaruvathur was the Guest of Honour, focused on the future goals of the students. Dr.John Samuel, Treasurer attended the function and wished the freshers. After the introduction of the Teaching staff the meeting came to end with vote of thanks by Dr.Mathias, Administrator.

25th Graduation Day Function was conducted by Grace Community College on 31.01.2023 for the Academic Year 2020-2022 Batch Students. The Program was held at 10am in our college Auditorium. The program starts with a prayer from Rev. Raja Selvan (Pastor CSI Church, Palapallam). Dr. Kingslin, (Infectious Disease Specialist, Government Medical College Asaripallam, Nagercoil) attended the function and was our Special Guest for our 25th Graduation day function.Your wonderful presence and your chief guest address has instilled us and our graduates to be confident and work tirelessly towards their respective goals.Our Correspondent Mrs. Geetha Barns presented in the function and delivered an inspirational speech to the graduated students. At Last Mr.Thaya Singh (Registrar, Grace institutions) delivered the Vote of Thanks and the program ended with National Anthem.

Republic Day 2023

Republic Day was celebrated in our College Campus. Treasurer Dr. John Samuel Unfurled the National Flag and delivered the Republic Day Address. Correspondent Mrs. Geetha Barns attended the function and delivered the motivational Speech of our republic of India. At the end Mr. Thaya Singh (Registrar, Grace Institutions) delivered the vote of Thanks.

Christmas Day Celebrations inaugurated by Rev. Bhakthasingh on 22nd December 2022. We thank you Father for taking time out and visiting our college. We feel immensely blessed and fortunate to have you as our Chief Guest. The speech presented by you was both humorous and informative to us all.
