Grace Educational and Charitable Trust was established under the ideal man of our founder Dr. Barns Joy MBBS., DFM., FCGP., the Managing Trustee. Grace College of Education was founded in the year 2008 with the vision of committing itself to share the social-ethos of uplifting the fellow brethren by providing them an opportunity to enter the citadel of higher education and come out in flying colors to smoothly sail in this world amidst storms and turbulences. The motto of our college is "Serve the Community with Grace" that mirrors our spirit that keeps alive the flame of wisdom and virtue burning in our hearts spreading the beacon of light to teaching community at large. Grace College of Education, Padanthalumoodu primarily aims at training Graduates and Post-graduates in Teacher Education, without any discriminating policy, that pulls down the integrated growth of our multi- lingual- cultural and religious Indian sub continent. We admit all the eligible candidates who step into our temple of learning. We leave not any stone unturned to cater to the awaiting multitude of student community at intranational and international plane. Our college is situated at padanthalumoodu amidst lush greenery enjoying good climatic conditions, at a distance of 5kms, from Marthandam Junction, parallel to NH 47, with travel friendly round –the clock road service. Our college is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi and is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai. We have a band of qualified, experienced and dedicated staff who unfold their gleaming potentials with a research perspective to quench the learning appetite of the budding teacher-educators. Our 11th president of India Dr.A.P.J Abdul kalam visited our college and interacted with the students in the year 2010 (09-07-2010)
A candidate shall be eligible for admission to the course leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,) if he / she : Has undergone, 10+2+3 pattern of study and passed the X and XII examinations conducted by the respective State Board or CBSE or any other recognized Board of Education / Examination and UG Degree Examination of the UGC approved Universities in any one of the school subjects offered by the Directorate of School Education of the Secondary / Higher Secondary Education Level.
Has studied more than one main subject in Part III (Under Double / Triple Major System) of UG Degree course. He / She has to choose only one of the main subjects and should have applied for that optional only.
Has passed Under Double Degree / Additional Degree Programme with three years duration.
Has qualified in PG Degree (5yr integrated course) under 10+2+5 pattern of study. In such cases the marks obtained by the candidate in the first three years (in major and ancillary subjects alone) of the course alone shall be taken into account for admission.
Candidates who have done their UG Degree in applied physics, Geo-physics, Bio-Physics and Electronics can apply for Physical Science.
Candidates who have done their UG Degree in Bio-Chemistry and Applied chemistry can apply for Physical Science.
Candidates who have done their UG Degree in Applied Mathematics can apply for Mathematics.
Candidates who have done their UG Degree in Bio-technology, Plant Biology and Plant Bio-technology can apply for Biological Science.
Candidates who have done their UG Degree in Environmental Science and Micro-Biology can apply for Biological Science.
